Jake came home from work this morning and told us that there was a parade getting set up, so we walked up to see. Jake and Adeline went ahead so Adeline could see the fire trucks, and Lucy and I followed a few minutes later. Lucy was kind of alarmed that we were walking towards all of the scary noises and she was holding on to me for dear life. Once we found Jake and Adeline she seemed to relax, and at that point the vehicles with sirens had passed.
This is just one more reason I love living here. It was a great little parade, and all it consisted of was the emergency vehicles, a couple of motorcycles, some classic cars and Smokey the bear. Oh, and some cheerleaders. It probably lasted 20 minutes-meaning it took longer for us to get ready and get there than the parade lasted-but it was totally worth it.
